Mirrored Tiles - The Styling Guide

Statement tiles have soared in popularity over recent years, and we have seen many homeowners now choosing to incorporate bold colours and motifs into their interiors to brighten surroundings and create an eye-catching statement.

Striking many homeowners as one of the trends to watch out for in 2024 is mirrored tiles, for their ability to add a functional focal point to practically any space, and it's safe to say this style has had a glow-up in appearance since it first emerged to the market!

We asked our Co-Director, Leigh Price, to give us the low-down on how to incorporate mirrored tiles into your home, for a practical and powerful finish that will continue to dazzle for years to come…

"Whereas mirrored tiles were previously only available in very basic design options, as the modern homeowner's tastes have evolved, many leading tile manufacturers are recognising the demand for unique and character-rich tiles", says Leigh.

"As a result of this, we are now seeing much more variation in the shades and patterns of mirrored tiles available on the market, allowing this style of tile to appeal to a far wider audience.

"Not only do mirrored tiles add an opulent feel to your home, but they also serve the function of creating the illusion of a larger space, as well as brightening your surroundings through light reflection."

Using mirrored tiles in the kitchen

Leigh comments, "With many homeowners favouring as much light as possible in the kitchen, mirrored tiles work as a great tool for bouncing sun rays into areas shaded by cupboards and extractor fans, allowing them to make for a super effective kitchen splashback tile.

"If your kitchen layout allows, try placing mirrored tiles directly opposite windows for maximum impact!"

Using mirrored tiles in the bathroom

"Another great space in which to utilise mirrored tiles is the downstairs bathroom, as this room is typically neglected in renovation plans, and could usually benefit from some TLC.

"Downstairs bathrooms tend to be compact in size, and many even lack natural lighting - which is where mirrored tiles come in handy, as they create the illusion of a larger space. Dare to be bold, and ditch your bathroom mirror altogether in favour of a fully mirrored tile wall, for a stylish and functional focal point.

"As more of a decorative space, the downstairs bathroom isn't subject to steam and moisture exposure, meaning mirrored tiles can simply be adhered to the wall without the need for grout. This allows for a super easy installation process, and no excuse not to give the WC a new lease of life!"
